If you are a fan of sweet Anya and her friends, then this is the place to go. There will be a new challenge every Sunday and if you want to combine it with any other challenges you are doing, then that's absolutely fine, as long as there is an Anya or Greetings Farm image on there somewhere. Dawny P is after some more members to join the design team. Entries should be in by midnight Saturday 8th August and the challenges start on Saturday 25th August.
Inspirational Card Sketch 26 this week is a fab sketch by Dawn. Challenge 61 on A Spoonful of Sugar is to use swirls on your project. I stamped a large swirly stamp with black Versafine on a sheet of lime green card from the DCWV Jewel Stack, embossed in black, then cut into 6 equal size squares, then mounted on black card. Manga image is coloured with pro-markers (I had a little accident with the versafine ink pad - I dropped it onto the image after colouring it so I tried to get as much off with an eraser as I could and went over some areas with pms again). Added a stamped sentiment and flower and brad from stash. Added little smudges of black ink around card and swirls.
Passion for Pro-Markers Challenge 9 is to use the colours rose pink and lime on your project. I've coloured a manga image in mainly rose pink, with some of the flowers and her eyes in lime. DP - K&Co. CS - DCWV Jewel Stack pink and lime. Lime card embossed and distressed. Brad - Dovecraft Flowers and beads from stash.
This week the challenge at C.R.A.F.T. is a colour combo of lime green and pink. All entries must be in by 8.30pm next Wednesday to be in with a chance to win a prize, with new work only please. Won't be long before the 2 new design team members are announced, so good luck to those who've applied. Talking of DT members, please take a look at the fab creations from the rest of the C.R.A.F.T. DT. I'm also entering my card into the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge No. 11. It's the first time I've entered any of their challenges. The sketch was such fun to follow, and I hope I've done it justice. Papertake Weekly's challenge this week is a colour combo of pink, black, white, yellow, green, grey and lilac. You can use as many or as few of the colours as you want. Image - Elusive Images - Sing Your Song theme from the fab Flights of Fancy collection. Dp - Joanna Sheen, Bazzill green and pink. Brads - Dovecraft. Inks - black Versafine embossed and Distress inks. Martha Stewart lace doily punch. Green ribbon cord and cream A5 card blank from stash.
Challenge 9 has started on the C.R.A.F.T. Challenge blog. We want to see unusual shaped cards, no squares or rectangles allowed. All entries must be in by 8.30pm next Wednesday to be in with a chance to win the prize which is a lovely unmounted stamp from Just Tracys. New work only please. We are also looking for 2 new DT members, so if you're interested in applying, just put DT entry into your posting linking to this challenge. For my DT card, I've made a card in the shape of a cat. I'm not very happy with it though, I think it's the way the tag turned out with the metal magic. First time I've tried this technique so I can only get better! I've added a little bell round the neck as well, and wire for the whiskers. My nephew should be happy with it for his birthday, as he loves cats. Please visit the blog to see what everyone else in the DT have come up with, there's some really good inspiration.
Please join us on Facebook at I ♥ ProMarkers for our brand new challenges. We have fab prizes of limited edition packs of pro-markers. The challenges are monthly, so you have plenty of time to join in. You just need to follow the sketch, using pro-markers of course, then add your picture to the pro-markers gallery, and add the url to the challenge post along with your name, so we can go directly to your entry. Come along and take a look at the other DT cards for some fab inspiration. Even if you don't enter the challenge, come and join our discussion board for tips and info on pro-markers, or even pen swaps for people with duplicates. For my DT card, I've used a LOTV stamp coloured with ivory and blush for the skin, the wall is cool grey 1, the hair and shoes are vanilla, the clothing is rose pink and amethyst, and the lips are carmine. Finally, I've added some white highlights with an Inkssentials opaque white pen. Dp circle - Blonde Moments 'Stew 'n' Dumplings' Cs - pink Bazzill Flower and charm, pink felt rik rak - Papermania Sentiment - Debbie Moore Grey ribbon and vellum bp from stash.
Sorry I'm late posting my DT card, my dad was rushed into hospital this morning, and I'm running to and from the hospital and looking after my mum who has very bad MS. I've finally got a few minutes to myself so need to do something to take my mind off things. On to the Challenge at C.R.A.F.T. This week it's decoupage, something I think you either love or hate. I've used a download for my image, (found online, can't remember where from or whose image it is, so if anyone recognises it please tell me so I can credit the right person). I've coloured the image with pro-markers, and layered the dress, hair, wings, socks, some of the berries and a leaf. It's the first time I've used the combination of purple and green, and quite like it. The dp is HOTP and cs is Bazzill. I've added some Bazzill flowers and a Dovecraft brad, and also a butterfly charm. To finish, I adhered a strip of card to the side with some K & Co. gems. The prize this week is from Donna's Den of Crafts and it's some fab Dovecraft goodies. Please post new work only, by 8pm next Wednesday to be in with a chance of winning. Please take a look at the creations by the rest of the design team for some great inspiration.
I'm a 44 year old mum of 2, a daughter of 19 and a son of 8. I haven't worked since having my daughter as I became ill and was diagnosed with lupus 14 years ago. I wanted a hobby that would take my mind off everything, so crafting was suggested to me. I started in March/April 2008 and have been having fun learning lots of techniques ever since.
