I won some Blog Candy!

A great start to my week. I've won Debbie's 'Faith on Windowseat' stamp in her blog candy. Debbie designs the stamps herself, and as well as her Faith stamps she's brought out a gorgeous range of Teds and butterflies. Visit The Crafty Pad and have a look at her stamps.

Plain and Simple Willow Sketchie Challenge

The Willow Sketchie Challenge at Craftbubble this week is to make a plain and simple card. NO LAYERS, NO RIBBON, NO BUTTONS, NO FLOWERS, NO NOTHING..just a plain image onto WHITE CARD. I've coloured a Sarah Kay image with pro-markers and then stippled 3 colours of Versacolour ink very lightly on the card, getting darker round the edges. It does seem strange not to add anything, but I was surprised at how much I enjoyed making this card.

ABC and Spoonful of Sugar Challenges

The challenge this week at ABC is D for distressing and at A Spoonful of Sugar Challenge 41 is torn edges. I used white cardstock to make another pocket card. The image is Rockstar Anya from the Greeting Farm coloured with pro-markers and distressed with inks and a Heidi Swapp edge distresser. The newspaper bp behind the image is torn and distressed with inks. The backing has been stamped with a texture mat stamp and embossed, then distressed with inks. I added a naked chipboard flower which I inked and a Basic Grey brad. The pockets inside have been punched with a Martha Stewart doily punch, then dabbed with inks. I know a lot of people hate ripping papers and distressing, but I love it.

Lili of the Valley Challenge 20

Over at Lili of the Valley this week the challenge is a fun sketch by Donalda. I thought I'd make a nice, bright card for a girl. The image is Jasmine - Chat by Lili of the Valley(I really like this stamp), coloured with pro-markers. I used blue Bazzill cardstock, yellow Bazzill, paper sent to me in a swap, Prima flowers and pink gems. The sentiment is also LOTV.

Willow Challenge on Craftbubble

The Willow Sketchie Challenge on Craftbubble this week is a sketch with a bit of texture. I made a pocket card. I coloured a Tilda with pro-markers, used bazzil cardstock, HOTP and DCWV spring stack papers and K & Co. flowers. I used a Martha Stewart doily punch on the middle strip.
Sorry, the picture isn't too good, I've just got a new camera and need to work it out a bit more.

Another Award!

Many thanks to Denise who has sent me this lovely award. Pop over to her blog, it's fab.

Friday Sketchers 40

It's Challenge 40 at Friday Sketchers this week. I had fun following the sketch by Jacqueline, and decided to go for a Spring theme. The stamp is a gorgeous Sugar Nellie by Elisabeth Bell, coloured with pro-markers and mounted on bazzill. Papers are HOTP and another from stash, punched with the Martha Stewart doiley punch. Prima flowers, HOTP brads, a die cut swirl and a fabric birthday sentiment finish it off.

Jude at Creative Inspirations invited me to be a guest designer for her new challenge blog this week. It's challenge 3 and the theme is numbers. She has a lovely prize(see pic above), so please join in and give her your support if you can. You have a fortnight from today (23rd Feb)to get your projects in.
I've made an 18th card using an Edwin stamp on a chipboard key. On the inside I've made a pop-out 18. Papers used are DCWV All Dressed Up matstack. The image and chipboard have been coloured using pro-markers.

Jasmine - Chat stamp

This is another of my new stamps from Lili of the Valley. She's called Jasmine - Chat. I'm really pleased with these stamps.
I'm entering this card into 2 challenges. Firstly there's Just Christmas and Birthday cards. The challenge is a sketch by Amanda, which I really liked and will use again at some time. The other challenge is The Pink Elephant. It's their first challenge and it's a colour challenge of pink, black and white.
I coloured Jasmine with pro-markers and added some pink gems- she's even sitting on a pink wall! The backing papers are from HOTP. I've added white lace and a pink K & Co. flower with a die cut swirl. I've cut scallops into the base of the card. Lastly, the sentiment is a sticker mounted on black card.

Happy Birthday to ME!!

It's my birthday, today, Saturday 7th Feb, and it's still snowing. I suppose it makes a change from the usual rain on my birthday, there's still plenty of time for that though. I'm just going to my parents' house for tea to celebrate, and hopefully hubby will take me out for a drink after.
I should be on sometime later to upload a couple of new cards.
Happy Birthday to me

I've been Tagged!

Sorry it's taken me so long to get round to posting this, but I've been tagged by the lovely May and Sandra. The rules are to go to your pictures on your pc, select the 6th album and the 6th picture, upload it to your blog and explain what its about, then select 5 people to do the same. The picture is of my beautiful little springer spaniel called Casey when she was a little puppy. She's now 21 months old and we wouldn't be without her.
As I'm so late posting this, I'm not going to tag anyone, as most of you have already been tagged by now anyway.

Cute Card Thursday Challenge 44

The challenge at Cute Card Thursday this week was to create a scene on your card. Great challenge I thought, it'll really stretch me, and it certainly did. It took me ages to decide what to do, and I'm not that happy with the end result, but I gave it a go. I used a tree stamp from my stash and added a Penny Black hedgie to look as if he's running past the tree on his way home to give his loved one a bunch of flowers. I watercoloured the images with pencils and chalked the grass and sky. I added stardust stickles to the the blossom on the tree and the flowers. I mounted the picture onto goldy brown card and put some photo corners on. Added a little pearly stuff to the centre of the flowers of the photo corners. Keeping up? lol Stamped a sentiment onto pic. Backing papers are vellum with gold dots and a swirly green paper that was a magazine freebie. All mounted on pink bazzill.
