Friday Sketchers 40

It's Challenge 40 at Friday Sketchers this week. I had fun following the sketch by Jacqueline, and decided to go for a Spring theme. The stamp is a gorgeous Sugar Nellie by Elisabeth Bell, coloured with pro-markers and mounted on bazzill. Papers are HOTP and another from stash, punched with the Martha Stewart doiley punch. Prima flowers, HOTP brads, a die cut swirl and a fabric birthday sentiment finish it off.

Jude at Creative Inspirations invited me to be a guest designer for her new challenge blog this week. It's challenge 3 and the theme is numbers. She has a lovely prize(see pic above), so please join in and give her your support if you can. You have a fortnight from today (23rd Feb)to get your projects in.
I've made an 18th card using an Edwin stamp on a chipboard key. On the inside I've made a pop-out 18. Papers used are DCWV All Dressed Up matstack. The image and chipboard have been coloured using pro-markers.

Jasmine - Chat stamp

This is another of my new stamps from Lili of the Valley. She's called Jasmine - Chat. I'm really pleased with these stamps.
I'm entering this card into 2 challenges. Firstly there's Just Christmas and Birthday cards. The challenge is a sketch by Amanda, which I really liked and will use again at some time. The other challenge is The Pink Elephant. It's their first challenge and it's a colour challenge of pink, black and white.
I coloured Jasmine with pro-markers and added some pink gems- she's even sitting on a pink wall! The backing papers are from HOTP. I've added white lace and a pink K & Co. flower with a die cut swirl. I've cut scallops into the base of the card. Lastly, the sentiment is a sticker mounted on black card.

Happy Birthday to ME!!

It's my birthday, today, Saturday 7th Feb, and it's still snowing. I suppose it makes a change from the usual rain on my birthday, there's still plenty of time for that though. I'm just going to my parents' house for tea to celebrate, and hopefully hubby will take me out for a drink after.
I should be on sometime later to upload a couple of new cards.
Happy Birthday to me

I've been Tagged!

Sorry it's taken me so long to get round to posting this, but I've been tagged by the lovely May and Sandra. The rules are to go to your pictures on your pc, select the 6th album and the 6th picture, upload it to your blog and explain what its about, then select 5 people to do the same. The picture is of my beautiful little springer spaniel called Casey when she was a little puppy. She's now 21 months old and we wouldn't be without her.
As I'm so late posting this, I'm not going to tag anyone, as most of you have already been tagged by now anyway.

Cute Card Thursday Challenge 44

The challenge at Cute Card Thursday this week was to create a scene on your card. Great challenge I thought, it'll really stretch me, and it certainly did. It took me ages to decide what to do, and I'm not that happy with the end result, but I gave it a go. I used a tree stamp from my stash and added a Penny Black hedgie to look as if he's running past the tree on his way home to give his loved one a bunch of flowers. I watercoloured the images with pencils and chalked the grass and sky. I added stardust stickles to the the blossom on the tree and the flowers. I mounted the picture onto goldy brown card and put some photo corners on. Added a little pearly stuff to the centre of the flowers of the photo corners. Keeping up? lol Stamped a sentiment onto pic. Backing papers are vellum with gold dots and a swirly green paper that was a magazine freebie. All mounted on pink bazzill.

Valentine's Card

I had to make this card round a friend's house so hubby wouldn't see it. There are a few challenges about valentines, love and hearts at the moment, so thought I would enter this card. The challenge at Daring Cardmakers is to include a heart on your card. At Charisma Cardz challenge 3 is 'All you need is Love'. At StampARTic the challenge is to make a Monochromatic Valentine's card and finally Challenge 15 at Lili Of the Valley is a Valentine Card.
I found the stamp in the bargain bin at my local craft shop, so not sure what she's called, but she's beautiful. I stamped her with red versafine. All 3 backing papers are DCWV stippled with dark red ink. Embellishments and ribbon added from stash.

More Awards!

Thanks to May for the lemonade award and the Kreativ award. May said 'I would like to nominate Julie for her wonderful attitude in spite of her health problems and for her inspiring creations'. Thank you May, what a lovely thing to say. Thanks also to Rozzy for the lemonade award and the One lovely Blog award (I've added her name to the earlier post when I received the award before). It's lovely of you both to think of me, and to know we are all becoming good friends.
The lemonade award is passed on to 5 people who have shown great attitude or gratitude this week. The Kreativ award does what it says in the title. award to 5 creative people and say how they inspire you. I'm not going to pass these on, 'cos otherwise we'd be going round in circles as I'd want to award them back to the people who gave me them in the first place.

Melinda Hugging Heart Card

I've combined 3 challenges with this card. The challenge at Stamp Something is 'Birthday Somethings', to make a project on the theme of birthdays. I followed the fantastic sketch from the Friday Sketchers blog challenge 35. Last, but not least, the challenge at Secret Crafter Saturday 15 is a project with hearts.
I used the Whiff of Joy Melinda hugging heart stamp coloured with pro-markers. Brown bazzill cardstock. Papers are 7gypsies and other from stash. Martha Stewart lace punch used on centre strip. 'Happy Birthday' sentiment stamped with majestic blue versafine. Prima flowers and Dovecraft brads. Swirls are silver foil ones got free from mag, painted the white side in sepia, then added glaze. This was a real fun sketch to follow, and one i will use again.

Penny Black 32 and Dutch Dare 31 Challenges

I've combined 2 challenges with this card. The challenge at Penny Black Saturday Challenge 32 this week is 'dotty creations' and at Dutch Dare Challenge 31 it is to use the colours green, blue and brown. This card is mainly blue and brown, but some of the colouring of the image is green, so it should fit in with the theme ok. I used a PB hedgies stamp coloured with pro-markers. Sentiment stamped with vintage sepia versafine and framed, gems added. 7gypsies backing paper and HOTP flowers and brad. I was going to throw this image away as it had a blob of ink leakage next to it, but I managed to cover it up ok with the frame and sentiment.

Cute Card Thursday and ABC Challenges

I've combined 2 challenges with this card. The challenge this week at Cute Card Thursday no. 43 is to add some humour into our cards. It gave me a chance to use this fab image which was kindly given to me. The challenge at ABC is to add an X somewhere on your card or project. I interpreted this as a kiss.
I coloured it the image with pro-markers and stippled the edges with vintage sepia versafine. Added sentiment. Pink paper is DCWV matted onto brown cardstock. Backing papers were received in a swap. Again stippled edges. Brown and pink ribbon, and a brown Prima flower with HOTP brad complete card. I really enjoyed making this card, although it wasn't the easiest image to colour as I'm still trying to get used to my pro-markers.

Award!

Thanks to my friends May , Doreen , Rozzy and Katherine for this 'One Lovely Blog' award. I now have to pass it on to 7 people. Instead I'm going to offer it to any of the watchers of my blog, as they all have such fantastic blogs of their own that it's too hard to choose.
