Freebie Friday

Hi everyone, sorry there's been no cards from me this week. I had a procedure at hospital on Monday, and was given antibiotics. I've always been fine with antibiotics (except Septrin), and have had these ones before and been ok, but this time my body decided it didn't like them. My whole face swelled up, I had headaches and felt awful. I stopped taking the antibiotics immediately and called the doctor, who put me on a high dose of steroids and anti-histamines. Finally, today the swelling seems to be going down, but I'm so tired from the anti-histamines on top of the medication I already take. So I've been no good to anyone this week!

C.R.A.F.T. Challenge 38 - A Sketch

I have spent hours at the hospital today having a pre-assessment for my op next month to remove the rest of my tooth. I'll be so glad when it's gone, the pain it's given me whilst waiting on the list for the op. This is why I'm so late posting my DT card for C.R.A.F.T.

The challenge this week is a fab sketch by one of our lovely DT members, Eileen. We are being sponsored this week by Debbie at The Crafty Pad. She's offering one of her gorgeous new stamps to the winner, it's called Teddies do Piano.

For my card this week, I've used a beautiful image I found free at Digital Two for Tuesday. The image has been coloured with promarkers, and mounted on pink, then green Bazzill. The 'Friends' stamp is one I bought a long time ago, but it's the first time I've used it. I've added a Martha Stewart butterfly on the swirly bit of the image to which I've added Glossy Accents and stardust Stickles, plus 2 small pink gems. The shape coming off the 'Friends' panel is from a deep edged Martha Stewart punch, which I've coloured with Memories soft rose ink. I've added 3 little roses at the top, also lightly covered with glossy accents and stardust Stickles. I've added 2 ribbons at the base, in dusky pink and green, and a bow. The dp is Anna Griffin on 6 x 6" light green Bazzill cardstock. Lastly, I added some faux stitching to finish it off.

I ♥ Promarkers Challenge 2 - Spring

It's time for Challenge 2 at I ♥ Promarkers. We have a sketch to follow, with the theme of Spring. This week's challenge is being sponsored by Susie at Die Cut Dreams. The prize is a set of 3 doorhangers to decorate as you wish. Why not take a look at Susie's store, she has so many lovely goodies.

For my card this week I've coloured the lovely fairy image with shades of orange, yellow, brown and green, and used Stardust Stickles on the wings. I added a glittery butterfly with a couple of gems in the corner. On the background paper, I've used the Dawny Cuttlebug folder, and sanded it a little, then at the side I've used the deep edged garden trellis Martha Stewart punch. Ribbon is Papermania, as are the buttons. Flower from stash, with Martha Stewart glittery punched leaves. Sentiment stamp from stash, stamped with orange Versacolour and embossed. All on a white 6 x 6" card.

Alota Cute card in pink, red and vanilla

I bought a fantastic grab bag from Alota, so decided to start entering their challenges when I have time. The latest challenge is to use pink, red and vanilla on your creation. The dp is Papermania. I've cut the bottom in a wavy style as the paper is, and added glossy accents to the hearts, bowl and spoon. The image is coloured with pro-markers, and die cut with Nellie's dies. I've added ribbon and pearls from stash. The edges are inked with Distress inks.

C.R.A.F.T. Challenge 37 - Digi colouring

This week the DT got to play with some of Wendy's lovely images. I used Valentine Bonnie coloured with promarkers. The dp is Joanna Sheen (bottom) and papermania (top). The middle dp is a scrap piece from stash, punched with a Martha Stewart punch and some beige lace added on top. Prima flowers are sprayed with Crafters Companion silver glitter spray, and some stardust stickles added. Leaves are a MS punch. I've added some stick pins to the flowers, and some pearls in the top corner. All on Bazzill 6 x 6" cardstock.

New look I ♥ Promarkers Challenge 1

Today sees the start of our new look challenges at I ♥ Promarkers. Our challenges are now weekly with some fantastic prizes every week. To start us off, we have a prize of a £10 voucher to spend at the fantastic Joanna Sheen store.

The challenge is a sketch with a twist of the colours pink and brown.

The image on my card is coloured with shades of pink and brown Promarkers. The girl is waiting for her friends to join her for a cup of tea, hence the verse: Tea for two or three or four is never a chore. I picked the verse stamp up for 50p in a sale at my local craft shop. Dp is DCWV The Rustic Stack.

Today's Beautiful Moments........

I've actually made a card that isn't a design team project. I really enjoyed making this, especially the colouring with pro-markers of the fab Kraftin Kimmie image. It's a 6 x 6" card cut from red Bazzill. Papers and flower gem embellishment are Papermania, mats are red Bazzill, swirl cut with the Cricut. The verse stamp says Today's Beautiful Moments are Tomorrow's Beautiful Memories'. I've added some red satin ribbon and some Stardust Stickles from stash. this must be about the 4th or 5th Valentine's card I've made so far this year.

We'll be back on Sunday for my actual birthday, as I wouldn't spend it away from the kids, but it's so nice to have some time away as a couple for a change. My 19 year old daughter's house and dog sitting, so I'm hoping I don't come home to a big mess.

C.R.A.F.T. Challenge 36 - Love/Valentine

We have come over all romantic at C.R.A.F.T. this week and would like you to share your Valentines/Love creations with us.

The prize this week is a selection of die cuts from the lovely Susie of Die Cut Dreams.

This week I've made a little box and a tag. Both images are by Michelle Perkett and coloured with pro-markers. The kissing couple was won in a competition to name them, I came up with Val and Vinnie Valentine. The box is made with grey Bazzill, and stamped using Barn Red Memories ink, with Heidi Grace swirl stamps and some heart stamps I found in my stash. I've also used Papermania red felt ribbon round the base, satin red ribbon and deckle edged scissors on the flap. I had a little accident with the Stickles, I used them for the fairy's wings, then managed to smudge them everywhere. I've used basically the same products for the tag. The sentiment says 'with all my heart'. The only other extra is wire with some white pearls around the ribbon.

Delightful Sketches and Challenges

This fortnight's challenge at Delightful Sketches and Challenges is LOVE.

Our sponsor is Stamp and Create who are offering a prize of a $15 store gift certificate.

I've made a little bag for this challenge. I made up a template with 12 x 12" card and then cut out heart shapes for the handles. I'm usually a card maker, so my bag isn't as good as a lot of them around in blogland, but I'm hoping to practise more with this sort of thing, and will hopefully get much better at it.

I've used Buzzles in Love by Digital Delights, coloured with Pro-markers. I added Pinflair glaze to the bees hoping it would make them shiny like Glossy Accents does, but it just seemed to make the colours run a bit. The Valentine tickets are also digis, but I'm not sure where from (if anyone recognises them please let me know so I can credit the right person). I've added a swirl from the bee with heart shaped pearls. The flowers and lace round the heart handles are from my stash. I've stamped inside the bag with red versafine using a text Love stamp. Also used were Stickles on the bees' wings and some Distress inks.
