A Valentines Day card

I've made a card that isn't for a design team, just for fun. I really enjoyed using the resist technique last week for the C.R.A.F.T. Challenge, so thought I'd try it with a butterfly stamp. I've used 3 shades of the reddish Distress Inks and added Stardust Stickles to the stamped butterflies. The top half is white Pearl card embossed throught the Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots folder. I've added some lovely white lace, and a chipboard 'LOVE' sentiment with a heart, and finally some red self adhesive pearls, all on an A5 card.
This card is very 'clean and simple' for me. I think I like it, just not used to this style.
I'm entering it into some challenges:
1. AiFactory Challenge 20- Valentine's card with lace
2. Crafty Creations Challenge 50 - Textures - (lace, chipboard, stickles, pearls, swiss dots ef)
3. Gingersnap Creations #38 - Embossing powder - ( resist technique with butterflies)
4. Your Next Stamp Challenge 7 - Embossing - (embossed with Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder and also heat embossed with resist technique)

7. Ann's Creative Nook GCA#73 - Love is in the Air
8. Practical Scrappers - Glitter/Bling - Stardust Stickles on the butterflies, clear gems and red pearls

Felt ribbon is Papermania, as is DP (Raspberry Champagne). Dp has been inked with Memories Soft Rose round edges, same ink used for sentiment stamp by Stampendous. I've punched some hearts from different shades of Bazzill to add round the image. I also used a 9cm Scallop circle punch and red Bazzill 6 x 6" cardstock.

For my card I've used a beautiful rubber stamp by Mabel Attwell from The Artistic Stamper, coloured with a selection of yellow and orange pro-markers, then cut out and mounted with foam pads. I've used the diamond plate Cuttlebug embossing folder on yellow/orange textured card and slightly sanded it. Dp is Boo to You by MME. Freebie Friday from Digital Delights

Freebie Friday is back!! There's been a slight change in format, each week there will be an accessory or sentiment designed to compliment many of our images at Digital Delights. There'll still be the occasional character. This week's image is called 'spotted love' - great for all your Valentine cards - team the heart up with another of our characters like Wendy has in the pic. How about using it to enter this fortnight's challenge at Delightful Sketches in the post below.

Go grab the image from our page on SNR here, while it's still available. It'll be there for a week, then be added to the store.

On another subject, I'm so excited to have won 2 challenges 2 days running. I was one of the winners at By The Cute and Girly for December and won a £10 voucher to spend at the fantastic Joanna Sheen store. I found out today I've won the grand prize for December at Paper Cutz which is a Martha Stewart circle cutter and an assortment of MS embellishments. I jus love MS products. I'm absolutely thrilled to have won these challenges, what a great start to 2010.

Delightful Sketches Challenge 14

It's time for a brand new sketch challenge at Delightful Sketches, and a fab one it is too! You have till January 20th to enter.
We have another fantastic sponsor - The Cutting Cafe, who are offering a great prize to our winner.

For my card I've followed the sketch, but made a stepper card to show you can make any shape at all as long as the sketch can be seen. The image I've used is Little Bo Peep, available at the Digital Delights store as a fab set, plain or pre-coloured for you. I've coloured the images with pro-markers and added glitter to the sheep and Bo Peep's bow and waistband. I've used my new Martha Stewart punch on green DCWV Jewel cardstock. Flowers are Papermania, with a silver heart charm on the large one. Gems and dp from stash.
I'll be giving this card to a special little girl for her 3rd birthday, hope she likes it.

I'm entering this card into these challenges:

Don't forget to take a look at this week's Tutorial Tuesday. Deanne's showing how to do some fancy folds this week.

I'm back at last! C.R.A.F.T. Challenge week 33

Hope you all had a great Christmas and New Year. My laptop started playing up before Christmas and I'm waiting to have it fixed. The person who sorts them out for us is off till 11th Jan, so still waiting. In the meantime I'm having to use hubby's when I can. I don't think he's very happy as I've been adding programmes and photos, but hopefully it won't be for long now.

Onto the new challenge at C.R.A.F.T. This week we want to see you using a resist technique. For those of you new to this, the easiest way to do it is to find a fairly solid stamp, then stamp with Versamark and clear emboss. Then just add your choice of ink colours to the image and surrounding card with some cut and dry foam or similar. Lastly, get a paper towel and rub where you've embossed and the ink will come off the embossing showing a white colour. There are other resist techniques, but this is the one I used.

Our sponsor this week is Your Special Delivery. To be in with a chance of winning a lovely prize this week, please have entries in by 8pm next Wednesday. New work only please.

For my card I've used a stamp from 'Birdsong' by Elusive Images. I've stamped it onto a scalloped circle with Versamark, embossed with clear embossing powder, then coloured using Distress Inks. I rubbed over the embossed image with a paper towel to bring it up, then lastly added a gem for the bird's eye. I nested this onto another scalloped circle. I've also used the resist technique on the mottled backing paper. I used a large stamp, with exactly the same technique as before. Other items used are Bazzill dots card with faux stitching, scalloped chipboard, brown ribbon and clear gems which I coloured with a Henna Pro-Marker. All mounted on an A5 card.

I'm also entering this card into:
1. Mojo Monday - Sketch
2. ABC Challenge - L for Layering
3. Belli Challenge - Glitter or Rhinestones inc gems
5. Everybody Art Challenge 72 - favourite colour combination
6. 2 Red Bananas - Inspiration pic
7.The Corrosive Challenge 45 - use your 2 favourite embellishments (mine are ribbon and gems)
8. Crazy for Challenges - Polka Dots (brown background paper is dotty)
9. One Stop Craft Challenge 61 - something beginning with a B (bird)
