I'm late again! With all these painkillers and antibiotics I'm on for my tooth, I'm sleeping so much, that I seem to miss most of the day.
It's a lovely, fun challenge at C.R.A.F.T. this week - Paper piecing...........don't worry if you've never tried this fab technique before, you'll find a tutorial I put together here, to follow.
For my card I've used BasicGrey Origins paper and a stamp by Mabel Lucie Attwell. Other items used: Diamond black Stickles, Pro-markers, Nesties Labels 8, Tuxedo Black Memento ink, Distress Inks, Kanban black pearls, Martha Stewart doily lace punch, Dovecraft brad, crochet flower and a swirl, cut with the Cricut. All on black 6x6" Bazzill.
Sorry I'm so late with this, I've been having unbelievable toothache the last few days and my face is swollen like a balloon. I'm popping painkillers like sweets alongside the antibiotics which don't seem to be helping much.
Anyway, onto the winner of Soccer Jamie.
According to random org, the winner is................................... (edited as Denise won the whole set anyway in the grand draw) Jo of http://trimgym.blogspot.com/
It's time for another challenge at C.R.A.F.T., and this week it's a color theme of RED.
For my card, I've used my Cricut for the first time, and come up with a red filigree heart and swirl. I've use white pearl card, and made the 'holes' with a pokey tool and Tim Holtz Idea-ology ruler. The paper is from stash, punched with a Martha Stewart edge punch. Ribbon is HOTP and pearls are by Kanban. The heart has been stuck with silicone glue to give it some dimension. Cardstock is 6 x 6 red Bazzill.

Thanks to those of you who joined in the Digi Day last night. As it was in the middle of the night in the UK I was tucked up nice and warm in bed, so I'm going to pop over there this afternoon to pick up some healthy tips and see what you've all made with the freebie Healthy Hannah.
I've made a card that isn't for a design team, just for fun. I really enjoyed using the resist technique last week for the C.R.A.F.T. Challenge, so thought I'd try it with a butterfly stamp. I've used 3 shades of the reddish Distress Inks and added Stardust Stickles to the stamped butterflies. The top half is white Pearl card embossed throught the Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots folder. I've added some lovely white lace, and a chipboard 'LOVE' sentiment with a heart, and finally some red self adhesive pearls, all on an A5 card.
This card is very 'clean and simple' for me. I think I like it, just not used to this style.
This week at C.R.A.F.T. we have a fab sketch for you designed by our DT member Ei. We also have some exciting news - we will be having Guest Designers starting in February! If you add GDT by your name in Mr Linky we will have a look, and someone will be invited to join the Design Team next month. A different member of the DT will choose someone each month.
Another great reason to join in this week is the fab prize of 6 pro-markers from Craft Obsessions, and you even get to choose your own colours!!
For my DT card this week I've used a Sugar Nellie stamp called Elise, coloured with Pro-markers and I've added Pink Stickles in the hearts on the dress. Other items used are an EK Success Edger punch with Stardust Stickles in the holes, a Smirk chipboard sentiment 'Cute as a button' with a button Brad. Felt ribbon is Papermania, as is DP (Raspberry Champagne). Dp has been inked with Memories Soft Rose round edges, same ink used for sentiment stamp by Stampendous. I've punched some hearts from different shades of Bazzill to add round the image. I also used a 9cm Scallop circle punch and red Bazzill 6 x 6" cardstock.
You have till 8pm next Wednesday to get your entries into C.R.A.F.T. New work only please.
There are changes going on at I (love) Pro-markers this month. Sharon is sadly leaving us to spend more time designing for Willow Designs. However, Karen will be taking over, so the challenges will continue as normal. Keep an eye out for different prizes and challenges in the future.
We have a great sketch this month to follow, with another great prize to be won as usual.
For my card I've used a beautiful rubber stamp by Mabel Attwell from The Artistic Stamper, coloured with a selection of yellow and orange pro-markers, then cut out and mounted with foam pads. I've used the diamond plate Cuttlebug embossing folder on yellow/orange textured card and slightly sanded it. Dp is Boo to You by MME. I've added Prima pearls, sentiment stamp is Anita's, black ribbon and button from stash. Scallops were done with a template. The c/s is 6 x 6 black Bazzill.
Digital Delights has a brand new store...............easy to navigate, no more scrolling up and down - menu on the left hand side now, all images in your choice of pre-coloured or jpeg/png formats. Your purchase is ready for immediate delivery 24/7!
Freebie Friday is back!! There's been a slight change in format, each week there will be an accessory or sentiment designed to compliment many of our images at Digital Delights. There'll still be the occasional character. This week's image is called 'spotted love' - great for all your Valentine cards - team the heart up with another of our characters like Wendy has in the pic. How about using it to enter this fortnight's challenge at Delightful Sketches in the post below.
Go grab the image from our page on SNR here, while it's still available. It'll be there for a week, then be added to the store.
On another subject, I'm so excited to have won 2 challenges 2 days running. I was one of the winners at By The Cute and Girly for December and won a £10 voucher to spend at the fantastic Joanna Sheen store. I found out today I've won the grand prize for December at Paper Cutz which is a Martha Stewart circle cutter and an assortment of MS embellishments. I jus love MS products. I'm absolutely thrilled to have won these challenges, what a great start to 2010.
It's time for a brand new sketch challenge at Delightful Sketches, and a fab one it is too! You have till January 20th to enter. We have another fantastic sponsor - The Cutting Cafe, who are offering a great prize to our winner.
For my card I've followed the sketch, but made a stepper card to show you can make any shape at all as long as the sketch can be seen. The image I've used is Little Bo Peep, available at the Digital Delights store as a fab set, plain or pre-coloured for you. I've coloured the images with pro-markers and added glitter to the sheep and Bo Peep's bow and waistband. I've used my new Martha Stewart punch on green DCWV Jewel cardstock. Flowers are Papermania, with a silver heart charm on the large one. Gems and dp from stash.
I'll be giving this card to a special little girl for her 3rd birthday, hope she likes it.
Hope you all had a great Christmas and New Year. My laptop started playing up before Christmas and I'm waiting to have it fixed. The person who sorts them out for us is off till 11th Jan, so still waiting. In the meantime I'm having to use hubby's when I can. I don't think he's very happy as I've been adding programmes and photos, but hopefully it won't be for long now.
Onto the new challenge at C.R.A.F.T. This week we want to see you using a resist technique. For those of you new to this, the easiest way to do it is to find a fairly solid stamp, then stamp with Versamark and clear emboss. Then just add your choice of ink colours to the image and surrounding card with some cut and dry foam or similar. Lastly, get a paper towel and rub where you've embossed and the ink will come off the embossing showing a white colour. There are other resist techniques, but this is the one I used.
Our sponsor this week is Your Special Delivery. To be in with a chance of winning a lovely prize this week, please have entries in by 8pm next Wednesday. New work only please.
For my card I've used a stamp from 'Birdsong' by Elusive Images. I've stamped it onto a scalloped circle with Versamark, embossed with clear embossing powder, then coloured using Distress Inks. I rubbed over the embossed image with a paper towel to bring it up, then lastly added a gem for the bird's eye. I nested this onto another scalloped circle. I've also used the resist technique on the mottled backing paper. I used a large stamp, with exactly the same technique as before. Other items used are Bazzill dots card with faux stitching, scalloped chipboard, brown ribbon and clear gems which I coloured with a Henna Pro-Marker. All mounted on an A5 card.
I'm a 44 year old mum of 2, a daughter of 19 and a son of 8. I haven't worked since having my daughter as I became ill and was diagnosed with lupus 14 years ago. I wanted a hobby that would take my mind off everything, so crafting was suggested to me. I started in March/April 2008 and have been having fun learning lots of techniques ever since.
